Marlins Capture Close Win
Oriole Park at Camden Yards was host to some intense drama.

The Miami Marlins trumped the New Orleans Ghosts, 7-6, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Miami catcher Yasmani Grandal was terrific. He was 3-4 with 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Miami reliever Danny Young was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was J.P. France.

Batting in the bottom of the ninth, 25-year old center fielder Xavier Edwards had a real shot to win the game. New Orleans pitcher J.P. France was determined not to let it happen. But with no outs, Edwards hit a run-scoring single. The Marlins had a walk-off triumph.

"Great to get the crowd on its feet," Grandal said.

Miami, now 9-1, is playing great baseball to start the year.
