The Tampa Bay Rays trumped the Charlotte Pilots, 9-3, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Tampa Bay second baseman Nick Gordon was terrific. He was 3-3 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Tampa Bay has now won 3 straight, while the Pilots have lost 3 in a row.

Pete Alonso, who is a three-time All-Star, took Charlotte hurler Bailey Ober deep in the bottom of the first. His 3-run home run put the Rays on top, 3-0. In all, Alonso had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
