Visiting Diamondbacks Beat Ghosts, 7-6
Despite a great performance by New Orleans third baseman Josh Smith, the Arizona Diamondbacks defeated the Ghosts by the score of 7-6 at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Smith went 2 for 5 with a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The winner in relief was Seth Martinez. He is now 1-1. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. The loss drops New Orleans to 1-5.

Had Nick Gonzales not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Gonzales hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Diamondbacks.

"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Gonzales told the Arizona Chronicle.
