The Los Angeles Angels defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks, 5-4, in part because of second baseman Joey Ortiz. Ortiz went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Angels. The winner was Los Angeles reliever Jesse Chavez, now 1-0. The loser was Seth Martinez. Trevor Megill notched his 2nd save of the season.
