Thanks in large part to center fielder Xavier Edwards, the Miami Marlins beat the Los Angeles Angels, 8-0. Edwards was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 3 times. Michael Kelly was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. Los Angeles now has a record of 3-3.

The Angels had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Marlins going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old first baseman Mark Vientos came to the plate. Vientos hit a run-scoring double on a 2-1 sinker from Los Angeles hurler Andre Pallante. It was Vientos's 2nd double of the year.

Edwards called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
